In the past year, Oklahoma has experienced a significant number of wildfires, causing many farmers, ranchers and rural communities to rely heavily on local fire departments to minimize damages. Cox’s Store in Comanche County is one of the rural fire departments that operate only on donations and volunteers. Like many volunteer fire departments, their resources have depleted due to the number of fires fought, cost of fuel, and vehicle maintenance. In partnership with CoBank, Oklahoma AgCredit donated $2,000 toward truck maintenance, new gear, and hydration and recovery essentials for the firefighters on call.

We are thankful for local heroes like Cox’s Store VFD – their commitment to serve rural Oklahoma aligns with the our mission to serve agriculture in good times and bad.
